Morning Star Juice (Cucumber & Carambola)

Did you know?

The name of the tree that bears the carambola fruit is called Averrhoa carambola tree.  Carambola fruit is also known as star fruit.  As you can see by the left image, when you cut the fruit in a horizontal direction, the pieces resemble stars.
1 star fruit contains about 30 calorie, 4 grams of sugar, 6 grams of carbohydrates and 0 gram of fat.  So if you're on a low fat, low glycemic and
low carb diets then this is the fruit for you.

A cucumber is more than 95% water, and it has electrolytes (potassium, sodium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate, phosphate and sulfate) therefore, it is great for quenching your thirst after a work out.  Cucumber also comes in different shapes, sizes and colours.  If you can find lemon cucumber (juice the skin too) in your area, you can use it for this juice recipe instead of the garden variety. (skin removed because I want to keep the juice a yellow colour)

Purple Sky Juice - (Radicchio & Grapes)

Did you know?

It takes about 2 ½ pounds of grapes to produce a bottle of wine.  It only takes about 2 cups of grapes to give you 1 ½ cup of grape juice.  Plus, this is a great alternative to wine for the nonalcoholic drinker out there.

The radicchio has a special place in the Italian culture.  As a matter of fact, each radicchio variety is named after the Italian town that they are originated from.  The radicchio that I used in this juice recipe is called radicchio di Verona.

Green Goddess Juice (Cilantro & Pear)

Did you know?

Cilantro is a powerful, natural cleansing herb that can remove toxic heavy metals from your body such as lead, aluminum and mercury.  The chemical compounds in cilantro bind to the toxic metals, and loosen them from tissues, blood and organs.  Then it removes these harmful substances out of your body through elimination.

Pear was considered a sacred fruit to both the Greek (Hera and Aphrodite) and Roman goddesses (Juno, Venus and Pomona).  Also, it is considered to be a symbol of immortality to the Chinese.
